My name is Junmei Chen. I am Senior Staff Scientist (PhD) in Bloodworks Research Institute, Seattle, WA.
I have extensive experience in studying VWF structure and function in vitro and ex vivo. We have developed multiple techniques, including analyzing VWF concentration, multimer, and activity in human and mouse plasma, VWF oxidative modifications under both static and flow conditions by mass spectrometry, VWF binding to platelets in a parallel-plate flow chamber and in in vitro microvessels, and VWF self-association under flow in microfluidic devices. Our recent research interest is to understand the effect of VWF self-association on microcirculation and how lipoproteins regulate this process in vitro and in vivo.
