Dr Lee is a Professor of Medicine at the University of British Columbia. She is the Medical Director of the Thrombosis Program for Vancouver Coastal Health, a Consultant at BC Cancer and a Scientist at the Centre for Health Evaluation and Outcome Sciences. She is active in leadership roles in Thrombosis Canada and CanVECTOR.
Dr Lee earned her Doctorate of Medicine and completed her residency in internal medicine at UBC. She obtained her training in Hematology and Thrombosis and received her Masters of Science in Health Research Methodology at McMaster University.
Her primary research interest is in cancer-associated thrombosis. Recognized worldwide as a leader in this field, her work has been published in high-impact journals and influenced the standard of care. She has participated in clinical practice guideline and guidance committees for cancer-associated thrombosis, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology and the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis. She serves as a member on Data and Safety Monitoring Boards at the National Institutes of Health for clinical trials in thrombosis and hemostasis.
