Dr. J. "Carolina" Gomez Builes is an anesthesia resident in the Clinician Investigator program at the University of Toronto. She is also a Ph.D. candidate under Drs. Michelle Sholzberg and Andrew Baker supervision. Her research interests lie at the intersection of critical care medicine and hemostasis, focusing on optimizing transfusion strategies in trauma patients. Her research program investigates whether impaired clot stability due to coagulation factor XIII deficiency contributes to hemorrhagic risk in patients with traumatic-induced coagulopathy.
