Michael is a 2nd year PhD student in Dr Tom Mckinnon's Laboratory at Imperial College London within the department of Immunology and Inflammation. He obtained a BSc in Biomedical Science from the University of Surrey. Subsequently, Michael completed an MSc in Molecular Medicine at Imperial College London, therein further laboratory experience as well as a keen interest in thrombosis and Haemostasis was gained. He also worked as a research technician for 1 year, undertaking research into the utilisation of shear-based assays for the analysis of VWF-mediated platelet capture under physiological and pathological flow conditions.
A recent research interest has been pertinent to the structure, expression, and function of Von Willebrand Factor (VWF) with relevancy to the bleeding disorder Von Willebrand disease (VWD).
