Sarah Vandelanotte obtained a Masters in Biomedical Science from KU Leuven University in 2020. Two years ago, she started her PhD research in the Laboratory for Thrombosis research under the supervision of professor Simon De Meyer. In her PhD project, Sarah has been investigating novel thrombolytic therapies for the treatment of ischemic stroke. In 2021, she was awarded the Helaers Price for Stroke Research. This year she was awarded the paul cappel price for best basic science oral presentation at the BSTH. Sarah has co-authored three publications and has been presenting orally or via a poster at multiple national and international congresses.
