Martine Hollestelle (PhD) is Hemostasis Specialist / Programme Expert at the ECAT Foundation (External quality Control for Assays and Tests) and started working for ECAT in 2017. In 1998 she started her career with a study in hemostasis at Sanquin (an organization including the Dutch blood banks and the Central Laboratory of the Netherlands Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service (CLB)). In 2004 this study was finished with a thesis called: “Factor VIII expression and regulation in health and disease”. After this project she worked as Post-Doc in developing assays for in vitro and in vivo testing inhibitors against pancreatic cancer at the Wilhelmina Children Hospital in Utrecht. From 2007, she focused on thrombosis complication and the contribution of von Willebrand factor at the University Medical Center Utrecht. From 2011, she worked for several years at Sanquin Diagnostics at the laboratory of Coagulation and was responsible for the patient diagnostics. Furthermore, she was member of the Section Coagulation of the Dutch Foundation for Quality Assurance in Medical Laboratories (SKML). From 2016 till 2019 she worked as Chief Operational Officer at Good Biomarker Sciences (GBS) with specialization in thrombosis and hemostasis.
