Rosalind Byrne is principal pharmacist for Anticoagulation at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in London. She is deputy chair of the Haemostasis and Thrombosis sub group of the UK Clinical Pharmacists Association.
One of her main roles is to promote the safe use of anticoagulation across the trust. This includes the safe management of both in-patient and out-patients receiving anticoagulation therapy. She and colleagues run face to face out patient anticoagulation clinics for new and complex patients. She is also involved in the development of anticoagulation protocols and the training of staff to promote safe anticoagulation. Her MSc focused on the use of DOACs for the treatment of left ventricular thrombus.
