Rayna J.S. Anijs is a PhD candidate supervised by Prof. Dr. Henri Versteeg and Prof. Dr. Suzanne Cannegieter, since February 2019 at the Department of Thrombosis and Hemostasis and Department of Clinical Epidemiology, Leiden University Medical Center, The Netherlands.
After finishing her secondary school in Suriname (South-America), she moved to the Netherlands to continue her education on a higher academic level.
She holds a BSc degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences (2012-2015) and a MSc degree in Drug Discovery & Safety (2015-2018), from the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam.
Her PhD project focuses on cancer-associated thrombosis, both in a fundamental and epidemiological setting. She is currently in the final months of her PhD and would like to pursue an academic career as a postdoctoral researcher focused on (cancer-associated) thrombosis.
Furthermore, she is a candidate in the Clinical Epidemiologist-B training track at the department of Clinical Epidemiology and is the PhD representative board member of the Netherlands Society for Thrombosis and Haemostasis (NVTH) since 2020.
