My name is Nicolas Pereyra, and I am a Ph.D. candidate at The University of British Columbia's Centre for Blood Research in the labs of Drs. Dana Devine and Jay Kizhakkedathu. My research interests lie in blood-compatible materials for implant, transfusion, and storage, as well as polymer-based therapeutics. Previously, I completed my undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Chemistry at Queen's University, where I spent 3 years working in implantable microfluidic devices and nanofabrication of small mechanical systems. I am also an avid soccer player and snowboarder, and an adamant supporter of pints on Fridays at 5 pm.
