G. Jourdi
PharmD/PhD
Associate Professor in Hematology (Paris Cité University)
He is a clinical pathologist at the university hospital center of Lariboisière. He is specialized in hemostasis and thrombosis (PhD). He has a long-standing interest in platelet physiology and coagulation, with experience in pre-clinical and clinical studies of platelet functions in hemostasis and beyond. He is co-chair of the Platelet Physiology Subcommittee of the International Society on Thrombosis and Hemostasis. His most recent work centers on platelets as vectors of neurotrophic factors. More specifically and following his post-doc at Montreal Heart Institute (Canada), his basic research is now focussing on the impact of these factors on primary hemostasis, coagulation and fibrinolysis systems as well as their implication in the stroke pathophysiology and their values as potential diagnostic, prognostic and treatment efficacy biomarkers. Moreover, he has a keen interest in personalized antithrombotic therapy, focused on a mechanistic understanding of inter-individual patient variability. In his academic clinical position, he has protected clinical and research time, allowing him to bridge the fundamental and clinical aspects of hemostasis and thrombosis.
