Ferdows studied Medicine and Clinical Epidemiology at the Erasmus Medical Center, Rotterdam, the Netherlands. He did his PhD on the genotype, laboratory and clinical phenotype of von Willebrand disease in the group of Prof Frank Leebeek, at the Erasmus Medical Center. He is in training to become a Hematologist. Ferdows has joined the group of Prof James O'Donnell since February 2023 on to work as a Senior Reaserch Fellow on various research projects concerning von Willebrand disease, at the Irish Centre for Vascular Biology, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
