Wolfram Ruf, M.D. studied Medicine in Giessen, Germany and is Professor of Immunology and Microbiology at Scripps Research and Scientific Director of the interdisciplinary, translational Center for Thrombosis and Hemostasis (CTH) in Mainz Germany. Interested in tissue factor, coagulation protease biochemistry and signaling, his work is focused on cellular and receptor-mediated events of the coagulation pathway in thrombosis, hemostasis and thrombo-inflammatory processes. His current interests include the interplay of the coagulation pathways with the immune system and the role of these interactions in atherothrombosis, metabolic syndrome, autoimmunity, stem cell biology and cancer.
